Creditors is Strindberg's darkly comic tale of obsession, honour and revenge.

Anxiously awaiting the return of his new wife, Adolph finds solace in the words of a stranger. But comfort soon turns to destruction as old wounds are opened, insecurities are laid bare and former debts are settled.

The cast features Tom Burke as Adolph, Anna Chancellor (Never So Good at the National, Four Weddings And A Funeral) as his wife Tekla and Owen Teale (A Doll's House, Dance Of Death) as stranger Gustav.

Director Alan Rickman is best known as an accomplished stage and screen actor, with credits including Truly Madly Deeply, Robin Hood: Prince Of Theives, Die Hard and the Harry Potter films. As a director his credits include The Winter Guest on stage and screen, and My Name Is Rachel Corrie at the Royal Court and Playhouse.

This production continues the Donmar's commitment to presenting European drama in new adaptations for a modern audience.
